A Perfect Heart

One day a young woman was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that she had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired her heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young woman was very proud and boasted more loudly about her beautiful heart.

Suddenly, an old woman appeared at the front of the crowd and said Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine. The crowd and the young woman looked at the old woman's heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing. The people stared - how can she say her heart is more beautiful, they thought

The young woman looked at the old woman's heart and saw its state and laughed. You must be joking, she said. Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears.

Yes, said the old woman, Yours is perfect looking but I could never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart,
but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared.

Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of their heart to me. These are the empty gouges - giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is.

The young woman stood silently with tears running down hers cheeks. She walked up to the old woman, reached into her perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. She offered it to the old woman with trembling hands. The old woman took her offering, placed it in her heart and then took a piece from her old, scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young woman's heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges.

The young woman looked at her heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old woman's heart flowed into hers. They embraced and walked away side by side.

Love cannot be wasted. It makes no difference where it is bestowed, it always brings in big returns!

Sinulog Festival 2011

Annually, Kabankalan City, one of the city found in my province Negros Occidental, celebrates it's most awaited festive every first month of the year. This year it was from January 10-16, there were a lot of people from other part of the province came in to celebrate and there were also some foreigners who came in to enjoy and witness the "Sinulog Festival".

Though Kabankalan City is just near my hometown, I've only gone there to witness the festive 3 times including these year, but it was my first time to go there with my baby (Chin) and hubby (Joey). Since the next day will be the first day of duty of Joey at the hospital as an Operating Room nurse, I decided to give them a treat.

It was January 16, the day started with a lot of rain but around 7am it started to calm down and the weather become fairer. So we decided to go our way off to the city. Since it's the highlight of the festive, we had hard time riding a bus because it's already full by the time it reached us, but we never lose hope and at sometime we got a ride and finally reached our destination.

We moved to the plaza and on the streets we saw the different tribes dancing with there colorful and unique costumes. There were a lot of people watching with paints on their faces, and that makes the festive more exciting because the people can enjoy all their heart out dancing, drinking, painting faces without minding how they look...and you can see in every people's face the innate happiness they feel, most especially the three of us.

At lunch time, we went at Perk's house )my good friend and Chin's godfather) and ate there. Then we went to Gaisano (a mall in the city) because Chin is crying over Jollibee and I keep my promise, so we went there and pay them a meal. Then we decided to go back to the plaza to meet my friend (Rudylei) and Joey's friends (Kenneth, Nak2x and their family), but alas, CHin got asleep while were heading there and Joey can't bear to carry her any longer because she's so heavy, so we decided to go home.

We really had fun together... the food, sweat, face paintings, bubbles, crowds, ice cream, street dancing, smiles...It was such a wonderful experience for us to become part of it. And I'm overwhelmed of the fact that I make my loved one's happy... The moments and memories we have there will always be remembered as we grow old...;)

Food Lovers

Sorry for I wasn't able to join last weeks topic...So I'll make it up now...Very interesting topic for this week's Couple's Corner.

I was born in the kitchen with my granny and papa who are good cooks...and no wonder why Joey feel in love with me more and more, it's b'cos I always cook for him, and not to be bragging, I'm the one who influence him to cooking as well...and he's actually a good cook though sometimes, his cooking isn't that perfect as expected, but somehow he's learning and I'm happy and confident knowing that he can already survive in other place alone...it's b'cos he knows now to cook by himself.

We don't really have a problem when it come to food, cos' we both love it, and it's one thing why we collided...I haven't heard him yet telling me that he doesn't like what I cooked him nor his family, what I always hear were compliments...and so happy to hear about it! *wink*

I know I still have a lot of things to learn about cooking and baking, but what matters is that I leave a smile on the faces of those I love after serving them, and that's more enough...

Photographaholic

Eversince I was younger, I always been accompanied by my aunts and uncle's outings and trips...and maybe that's one reason why I always love taking photographs. And with the fast pacing technology we are in now, gadgets are very popular. And one that I always dying for is the DSLR camera (Canon or Nikon are the brands which I prefer), which I'm hoping one day someone will going to gave me one. For now I'm just contented with my camera, cos' somehow it makes me enhance more my abilities in photography. What's more important for me is that I'll be able to capture memories that cannot be re-winded, still the memories will be remembered in our hearts and also by seeing the photographs.

My Birthday Celebration

Happy Easter everyone!

Im Back!!! Whew, it's been quite a long long time for me, not to be able to have my post for my weekly memes...it's all because of my busy schedules last week and also for a meaningful sacrifice for the Holy Week.

I started not posting blogs last Saturday since I need to take some rest, for my trip the next day to Cebu. I went there last Sunday and by arriving at Cebu, I just secure my things to my granny's house and went to IT Park where my friend Marf is working, then she told me that I'll be her guest for that day to see the open-house of the Avida Condominium they're selling. Below are some photo's of the condo rooms which is very affordable.

After the open-house, we went to church to hear mass with her bf Christopher, whom I saw the first time for he was at UK when me and Marf meet and became friends and only see him and know him in fb since we're friends there. The next day I went to PRC to get my board rating certification and then went back to Negros in preparation for my pre-birthday celebration with my babe and dhe. I arrived in Negros around 8pm that day and went to sleep.

The next day April 19, I woke up early in the morning around 4am to prepare my stuffs and cook rice which I'll be bringing to Bacolod for my pre-birthday celebration at the Caribbean Waterpark with my babe and hubby. At around 8am me and my babe headed to Bacolod where Joey is waiting for us at the Goldenfield where the waterpark is located. Then we pay the cottage and get a locker where we left first our things cos' we need to buy foods at the nearest mall there. After we're done buying foods for lunch and snacks, we went back to the waterpark and prepared ourselves to go swimming all day long (and we did...*wink*). I never really celebrate my birthday eversince, cos' it's so costly and only go to church in the morning and just with my family at home is more enough with me. But this day is different, which I can say that it was the most wonderful birthday I ever had. And the first time I celebrated it before my birthday (April 20 is my natal day), since it was Joey's off from his work at the hospital, and the only time we could bond together the three of us. Here are some photo's we had during my pre-birthday celebration.
at the entrance...actually my babe is afraid of the statue

Babe is also afraid of Poseidon's statue at the back, cos' she says that he is looking at her wherever she goes

with her newly met friend at the waterpark which is the same age as her

courtesy of my babe, she was the one who took this picture..;)

The best birthday I ever celebrated, and was made special with these two people I loved most. Thanks for this wonderful moment dhe and babe...You are both my treasures..
Love you both!
