During the month of May, Binalbagan a town in Negros Occidental, celebrates its festivity. It is a week-long celebration of the Binalbaganon's from May 8 or 9 which is the opening of the festival up to the 15th which is the highlight of the said celebration. There were lots of fun and exciting activities which are organized by the LGO's together with the town Mayor Alejandro "Bebot" Y. Mirasol and Vice Mayor Aranda. Due to the typhoon which strikes the Philippines once again, some days during the festivity were a bit wet. But luckily not having rains during the last 2 days of the fiesta. Before it was called "Lumbayag Festival" now it was change to "Balbagan Festival" which they say that long time ago, the whole town was being crossed by a big snake and the Hiligaynon term was "ginbalabagan". On the 7th day of May there was a program at the plaza which showcase the talents of the candidates of the Miss Teen Binalbagan. On the opening day 9th of May was the Coronation Night but me and my friends weren't able to watch it due to weather constraints. On the 11th was a Dance Showdown with the Dance Idols. On the 14th was the SMB Night which is a street party with live bands (party all night long) and fireworks display at midnight. For me this is my most favorite day of the festivity. On the 15th was the highlight of the fiesta, first we went to my bff house Aruba to greet her a happy birthday. We then proceeded to Kcas house and have our lunch at tita Inday's (mine and Kcas aunt) with friends. After lunch we watch the dance parade of the different barangay's for the annual Balbagan dance competition. Then another party mode during the night.
