Annually, Kabankalan City, one of the city found in my province Negros Occidental, celebrates it's most awaited festive every first month of the year. This year it was from January 10-16, there were a lot of people from other part of the province came in to celebrate and there were also some foreigners who came in to enjoy and witness the "Sinulog Festival".
Though Kabankalan City is just near my hometown, I've only gone there to witness the festive 3 times including these year, but it was my first time to go there with my baby (Chin) and hubby (Joey). Since the next day will be the first day of duty of Joey at the hospital as an Operating Room nurse, I decided to give them a treat.
It was January 16, the day started with a lot of rain but around 7am it started to calm down and the weather become fairer. So we decided to go our way off to the city. Since it's the highlight of the festive, we had hard time riding a bus because it's already full by the time it reached us, but we never lose hope and at sometime we got a ride and finally reached our destination.
We moved to the plaza and on the streets we saw the different tribes dancing with there colorful and unique costumes. There were a lot of people watching with paints on their faces, and that makes the festive more exciting because the people can enjoy all their heart out dancing, drinking, painting faces without minding how they look...and you can see in every people's face the innate happiness they feel, most especially the three of us.
At lunch time, we went at Perk's house )my good friend and Chin's godfather) and ate there. Then we went to Gaisano (a mall in the city) because Chin is crying over Jollibee and I keep my promise, so we went there and pay them a meal. Then we decided to go back to the plaza to meet my friend (Rudylei) and Joey's friends (Kenneth, Nak2x and their family), but alas, CHin got asleep while were heading there and Joey can't bear to carry her any longer because she's so heavy, so we decided to go home.
We really had fun together... the food, sweat, face paintings, bubbles, crowds, ice cream, street dancing, smiles...It was such a wonderful experience for us to become part of it. And I'm overwhelmed of the fact that I make my loved one's happy... The moments and memories we have there will always be remembered as we grow old...;)
